The Dizzy Indie Hour ON SHOCK RADIO

I hosted an award winning new music show every Friday  on Shock Radio, as well as producing each show myself, writing scripts and organising and editing interviews with artists. You can find some of my shows below.

Quays RADIO

During newsdays at university, I created my own radio packages to air on Quays Radio. I researched the topic and wrote my own scripts, conducted original interviews, self recorded as well as editing and producing the pieces using Adobe Audition. I also combined some of my packages with other treatments such as live in studio segments.

Cost of Living and the Music Industry

During a themed university newsday, our topic was the cost of living crisis, and I chose to focus on how this is affecting the music industry. I interviewed two bands, attended a festival, and vox popped for this piece, as well as finishing the segment with a live in studio expert guest. I edited and turned all of this around on the day

FIFA and Alex Spencer

With the announcement of the soundtrack for the new EAFC25 (formerly known as FIFA) game, it was no surprise we were getting huge artists such as Jamie xx and Coldplay. But amongst them was 17-year-old singer songwriter Alex Spencer from Manchester. I interviewed Alex, and used his song as wild track underneath the package, as well as vox popping people on their favourite FIFA song to not only open the package on something that will capture the audience, but also give an air of nostalgia and relatibility

Ramadan

As the start of Ramadan approached, I was intrigued to find out more about the holiest month of the Islamic calendar. I used a case study for this, Aahil Choudhry, whom I interviewed and who also kept an audio diary. He offered really interesting answers, meaning I kept this piece quite simple, using prayers from the Quran as wild track along with both mine and Aahil's voices

Girls Who Walk

Girls Who Walk is a weekly group who meet up to help combat loneliness in young women in Manchester. Being able to attend and go on the walk myself allowed me to really get into the atmosphere of the day, and I vox popped not only the walk ambassadors but also several women who were partaking in the walk.
